چکیده
Background: To report the evaluation of incentive spirometry (IS)-induced pressure changes in intra-abdominal drainage catheters and consider its use for maintaining catheter patency enhancing drainage. Methods: Prospective study patients with indwelling abdominal fluid collections who had their pressures measured while performing spirometry. Patients were instructed an spirometer. Within a week after initial drainage, IS evaluated three times at 1500 cc maximum inspiratory effort. Intra-abdominal (IAP) was using monitor connected to catheter. Results: Twenty (men, 12; women, 8). Fluid collection locations pelvis, Right-upper quadrant (RUQ), Left-upper (LUQ), Left-lower (LLQ), Right-lower (RLQ). A total 16 20 showed elevation IAP IS. At cc, increased by average 41.24 mmH2O. maximal effort, 48.26 Pressure increase greater upper abdomen catheters. Four lower pelvic minimal Conclusion: increases flow through Future studies are warranted determine whether enhances performance facilitates via effect on IAP.

Ultrasound-guided percutaneous drainage of intra-abdominal abscesses.
The encouraging results of percutaneous abscess drainage (PAD) in simple intra-abdominal abscesses have led us to employ this method in patients with more complex abdominal inflammatory disease, such as those with multiple enteric communicating or multilocular abscesses and patients in whom the percutaneous approach requires puncture routes traversing uninvolved organs. Cure was achieved in 74 ...

متن کاملCT-guided Intra-abdominal Abscess Drainage.
Intra-abdominal abscesses arise from complications of surgery and disease. Computed tomography (CT) facilitates abscess drainage procedures while reducing the risks and costs associated with surgery. These procedures require collaboration to ensure positive patient outcomes. To perform their role in CT-guided intra-abdominal abscess drainage, radiologic technologists must understand patient car...

HYPOTHESIS Characteristics of intra-abdominal abscess can be used to predict successful outcome for percutaneous catheter drainage (PCD). METHODS We performed a multicenter prospective study of patients who had intra-abdominal infections treated with PCD and intravenous antibiotics. Multivariate regression analysis determined predictors of successful outcome. RESULTS The study included 96 p...
متن کاملComparative evaluation of sump drainage by trocar puncture, percutaneous catheter drainage versus operative drainage in the treatment of Intra-abdominal abscesses: a retrospective controlled study
BACKGROUND Intra-abdominal and pelvic abscesses are common and result from various illnesses. Percutaneous drainage applies limitedly to well-localized abscesses with appropriate density while surgical drainage usually causes significant physiological disturbance. We herein illustrated an innovative choice "sump drainage with trocar puncture" for the management of intra-abdominal abscesses and ...
